Please allow plenty of time to park your car, collect your number (if you haven’t already received it through the post) and make your way to the start line. The start and finish will be inside Pontefract Park.

Please note that we operate a strict 7-day refund policy. If you wish to cancel your place and receive a full refund, you must do this within 7 days of signing up. After this time, we have the right to decline requests for full refunds.

Runners must be over the age of 15 on the day of the run to meet with our Run Britain license standards.18
Cut Off Time
Due to having to re-open roads, we have a 2-hour time limit on the run.
Places will be available up to the week before the run or once all places have been sold
We are need of volunteers to help with road marshalling if this is something you would be interested in please visit the Volunteer page. Free places to future Ponte Half and 10k races for any volunteer
We will be setting up our Race HQ in front of the entrance to the racecourse stands. In this area, you will find:-
Food/drinks stalls (TBC)
Prince of Wales Hospice Tent
If you signed up to the 10k before 1st July 2021 the race numbers have been posted out to you and will arrive this week. Anyone who signed up after this date will be able to pick their number up on the morning of the run. Race numbers will be available from 7:30am – 8:50am on the day. Please don’t leave this till the last minute as the race will be starting at 9.00am promptly!
Please note we have not sent safety pins out this year but there will be plenty near the race information tent on the morning to pin your numbers on.
Please see the image below for car parking options. We only have limited parking this year in Pontefract Park. We are advising you to get to Pontefract early and park in the town centre and walk to the start which will take around 10 minutes. Directions from the town centre car parks to the start area will be displayed on the morning. We are currently in discussions to secure a parking area closer to the start but this will updated later in the week if we get approval.

Water stations First aid at start/finish + on the route
The water station will be situated halfway round the course at 5K. There will also be another one for you at the finish. Could we politely ask that after you are finished with your water, you dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided. If there isn’t one available when you finish your drink, please either hold onto it or leave at the side of the road for our clean up team to pick up easily. Do not throw litter into bushes.
Mick Hall will be taking pictures at 2km & 8km. We will also be getting some pictures at the start and finish line. The link for this will be sent out after the race.
The Pontefract 10k will be licensed by Run Britain
The Course is fully measured
Roads will be closed to all vehicles (with the exception of emergency vehicles) We have traffic management and our marshals will be on the course but we would still like you all to be aware and stay safe
KFA Medical will be there on the day should you feel unwell. They will be located near the finish line and along the course. Please do not hesitate to ask them for help if you need assistance.
Greatest Hits Radio will be there on Sunday to get you all in the spirit and send you on your way and then cheer you on at the finish.
We have had a lot of runners enquiring about the use of headphones. We can confirm that they are allowed although we would ask you to remain vigilant of your surroundings and other runner
