Place: Pontefract Park, WF8 4RA

Please allow plenty of time to park your car, collect your number (if you haven’t already received it through the post) and make your way to the start line. The start and finish will be inside Pontefract Park.

Please note that we operate a strict 7-day refund policy. If you wish to cancel your place and receive a full refund, you must do this within 7 days of signing up. After this time, we have the right to decline requests for full refunds.

Please note: No refunds or deferrals will be permitted.

We are no longer able to transfer places.

 

Age Restriction

Runners must be over the age of 15 on the day of the run to meet with our Run Britain license standards.18

Cut Off Time

Due to having to re-open roads, we have a 2-hour time limit on the run.

We will be setting up our Race HQ in front of the entrance to the racecourse stands. In this area, you will find:-

The Route

Start/Finish:

Pontefract Park

Course:

Takes you out of Pontefract Park and down Park Lane and onto the new part of the route for 2020 where you do a loop before heading back to the park.

Race Numbers: 

Anyone signed up before 01/04/2023 will have their race number posted out. Anyone signing up after this date will be able to collect their number on the morning of the race.

Parking:

Please see the image below for car parking options. We have no parking this year in Pontefract Park. We are advising you to get to Pontefract early and park in the town centre and walk to the start which will take around 10 minutes. Directions from the town centre car parks to the start area will be displayed on the morning.

Water Stations:

The water station will be situated halfway round the course at 5K. There will also be another one for you at the finish. Could we politely ask that after you are finished with your water, you dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided. If there isn’t one available when you finish your drink, please either hold onto it or leave at the side of the road for our clean up team to pick up easily. Do not throw litter into bushes. 

Photography

Mick Hall will be taking pictures at 2km & 8km. We will also be getting some pictures at the start and finish line. The link for this will be sent out after the race.

UKA Licence

The Pontefract 10k will be licensed by Run Britain

Course Measurement

The Course is fully measured 

Road Closures

Roads will be closed to all vehicles (with the exception of emergency vehicles) We have traffic management and our marshals will be on the course but we would still like you all to be aware and stay safe

First Aid:

KFA Medical will be there on the day should you feel unwell. They will be located near the finish line and along the course. Please do not hesitate to ask them for help if you need assistance. 

Headphones

We have had a lot of runners enquiring about the use of headphones. We can confirm that they are allowed although we would ask you to remain vigilant of your surroundings and other runner
