Return/Transfer Policy

Please note that we operates a strict 7-day refund policy. If you wish to cancel your place and receive a full refund, you must do this within 7 days of signing up. After this time, we have the right to decline requests for full refunds. In 2020 we will not be deferring places to futures runs but if you find someone to take your place please get in touch so we can transfer your place over.

Age Restriction

Runners must be over the age of 15 on the day of the run to meet with our Run Britain license standards.18

Cut Off Time

Due to having to re-open roads, we have a 2-hour time limit on the run. 

Closing Date

Places will be available up to the week before the run or once all places have been sold

Bib Numbers & Chips

This week we will be in the Prince of Wales Hospice Shop (21 Cornmarket, Pontefract wf8 1bj) between the following times.

FRIDAY: 12pm – 4pm
SATURDAY: 10am – 4pm

Race numbers will be available for collection on the morning of the race from 8am. Last numbers will be handed out at 9:20am to allow time to get to the start.

Please note we will no longer be at the Pontefract Park run on Saturday Sorry if this causes any inconvenience


Please see the image below for car parking options. We have permission for cars to park on the grass to the right as you enter Pontefract Park (this will change if we have any bad weather over the coming days). We have also been given permission to use Park Road Retail Park which is just across the road from Pontefract Park. Should these both full up on the morning there is plenty of parking available in the town centre but please allow a 15-minute walk if you use this option.


We are need of volunteers to help with road marshalling if this is something you would be interested in please visit the Volunteer page. Free places to future Ponte Half and 10k races for any volunteer

We have permission for cars to park on the grass to the right as you enter Pontefract Park. This is subject to the ground conditions, but we have also been given permission to use Park Road Retail Park for car parking should it be needed. We will keep you informed and give you confirmation in our final race information email which will be sent by 6th March.

We will be setting up our Race HQ in front of the entrance to the racecourse stands. In this area, you will find:-

The Route


Pontefract Park


Takes you out of Pontefract Park and down Park Lane and onto the new part of the route for 2020 where you do a loop before heading back to the park.

Road Closures

Roads will be closed to all vehicles (with the exception of emergency vehicles) We have traffic management and our marshals will be on the course but we would still like you all to be aware and stay safe



Expect the normal great atmosphere with some tunes to get you fired up at the start and to help with your sprint finish!


We have had a lot of runners enquiring about the use of headphones. We can confirm that they are allowed although we would ask you to remain vigilant of your surroundings and other runner
